Kayaking & Beaches

When we arrived it was so calm on the lake that we immediately got in the kayaks to explore the larger part of the lake, that we often can't get to when the water is rough.

We got a good sense of how big the lake is beyond our little bay.

I suspected from Google that there was a sandy beach on this otherwise rocky lake, and sure enough we found it!

Heading home from our long trip.

Heading into our little bay.  That's our raft in the distance.

  ...getting closer.

A nice shot of our new beach area.  We added some sand to level out the shoreline so we can sit comfortably and enjoy the view of the lake.

We have a resident frog, always in the same place.

He's pretty good as posing for pictures.

Quite a large beetle!  We've discovered they are called "chip carriers" by the locals, because of their habit of carrying away wood chips.

The new firepit.  Can't wait to try it out!
